What is faded stops what is faded.
Inexplicably and randomly, objects, people, and animals can appear to be translucent, fading from view. There are no apparent patterns, no connections, no warning, and no preventing this problem – there are even cases of the effect ending as mysteriously as it began.
When people are affected, they appear to be subject to the same rules as those unaffected – but they do find that “unfaded” walls or barriers, with concentration, can be crossed through as if they were not there.
But can it be stopped? Reversed? Who would work for that end?
A D&D 3.5 campaign in the Greyhawk setting focused on interesting characters and places, using a number of house rules and imaginative concepts.
